YOUR FIRST SETUP, EXPLAINED
From listening to playlists to mixing your own set.
Choose the tracks, prepare the next song in your headphones and blend it in with your hands. Inpulse 500 helps you learn the timing, then gives you effects, loops and pads to make the transition your own.

Your computer runs the music
Use a compatible Windows PC or Mac with the included DJ software.
Headphones prepare the next track
Hear your next song privately before it goes into the main mix.
Speakers share the set
Connect powered speakers with matching audio cables when playing for others.

LEARN BY DOING
Learn what to adjust, one light at a time.
The Beatmatch Guide shows when to change a track’s speed or nudge its position so the beats line up. Practise with the tempo slider and jog wheel, then switch the guides off as your listening skills grow.

SHAPE YOUR TRANSITION
Build a transition, not just a playlist.
Blend bass, mids and highs with the EQ knobs, fade between tracks and add supported effects. The 16 pads give you access to cues and loops, helping you turn a favourite part of a song into part of your own routine.

CONNECT YOUR SETUP
The connections to grow beyond your bedroom.
Connect powered speakers for the room and headphones for private cueing. The microphone and AUX inputs make space for announcements or another audio source. A metal backing plate and retractable feet give the controller a practical base for regular use.

A few things to know.
What do I need for my first session?
A compatible Windows PC or Mac, music, wired headphones and the included USB cable. Install the included DJ software, connect the controller and select its audio device. Headphones let you prepare the next track privately; add powered speakers and matching audio cables when you want others to hear the mix.
Do I need to pay for DJ software to start?
DJUCED and Serato DJ Lite are included. You can start learning with either; Serato DJ Pro is a separate optional paid upgrade. Music files and paid streaming subscriptions are separate.
Does it play music from a USB stick on its own?
No. This is a controller for DJ software running on a compatible computer, not a standalone music player. The computer supplies the tracks; the controller gives you the hands-on controls and audio outputs.
Is this suitable for a complete beginner?
Yes. Start with two tracks, use the beatmatching guides and learn one control at a time. The guides help you practise; they do not replace practice. For hands-on tuition, see Silent Noise DJ lessons.
Should I buy this or a motorized controller?
Choose Inpulse 500 for guided mixing with touch-sensitive jog wheels. Choose Inpulse T7 if spinning vinyl-style platters and learning scratch technique are central to what you want to do.
